Nancy Griffin is Principal of Contento Marketing, a strategic marketing firm for spas and wellness brands. With 25 years of industry experience, her passion for spas was sparked while obtaining her Master’s Degree from Cornell University School of Hospitality Management. Committed to promoting the spa industry, she is a founding Advisory Board Member of the University of California Irvine Spa & Hospitality Management Program, and Director of the International Spa Association Media Events in New York and Beverly Hills. Griffin’s current venture is Bespoke, artful retail display solutions for spas and resorts.

Noel is an accomplished Visionary, highly successful at developing innovative niche brands with a strong “Go to market” track record while building an exceptional company culture. Noel Asmar Group Inc. is a Niche, purpose-driven clothing & accessories brand designing premium products for Spa & Wellness Professionals & Equestrians worldwide since 2002.

A self-taught designer and former hotel management professional,  Noel launched the first “spa uniforms” collection online in 2002 as with an eye for the design details that make a difference in the way spa & wellness professionals feel & perform.  Noel has gone on to successfully launch two more Niche brands. In 2006 launched - dedicated to designing stylish, ergonomic Pedicure & Manicure bowls and accessories and In 2011 launched, an equestrian Apparel brand that most recently dressed the Canadian Equestrian Team for the 2016 RIO Olympics.
Noel is passionate and dedicated to the spa & wellness community, volunteering  her time to serve on the Board of Directors of  the International Spa Association (ISPA) since 2013.   She is deeply passionate about building, developing and mentoring teams to accelerate personal and professional growth while delivering innovation & strength in branding.

Garrett MERSBERGER, Chairman, ISPA and Director of Wellness & Kohler Waters Spas, Kohler Co.

Garrett Mersberger has been in the Hospitality industry for over 16 years. Working for both Kohler Co. and ClubCorp, Mersberger has managed multiple businesses and gained extensive knowledge in the health, wellness and private club sectors of the Hospitality industry.
As Director of the Kohler Waters Spas, Mersberger oversees Kohler’s global portfolio of Spas as well as future expansion of additional Spas.  Current locations include Kohler, Wisconsin; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Chicago, Illinois; and St. Andrews, Scotland. 
The Kohler Waters Spa brand is known for its innovative hydrotherapy services, cutting edge Kohler Co. fixtures and faucets, and Five-Star customer service worldwide.  Currently, the Kohler Waters Spa located in Kohler, Wisconsin is one of only 47 Five-Star spas in the world.
In addition to these roles, Mersberger serves on the International Spa Associations (ISPA) Board of Directors and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board.  ISPA is recognized worldwide as the leading professional organization and voice of the spa industry.

Todd SHAW, National Sales Manager, Technogym

Todd Shaw built his career accomplishments on those beliefs, that to succeed means leaving behind criticism and worry about criticism. A global spa and fitness operations leader, Shaw serves as Acting Chairman of the International SPA Association, the organization for spa professionals around the world. A well-known and highly respected industry leader, Shaw has held progressively responsible ISPA roles since 2007, culminating in his election to the top leadership post in 2016. “Really, I just participated. I got involved as much as possible and put myself out there,” Shaw said of his rise in the ranks of ISPA. “It comes down to removing fear, applying every time, making presentations, and telling myself that failure is temporary; it’s part of the process of success.” Shaw’s plans for the organization are strikingly similar to his plans for the Spa, Fitness, and Wellness Departments he directs at the original desert hideaway, LaQuinta Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in La Quinta, California. La Quinta Resort has a 38 treatment room spa, 23 tennis courts, and three fitness studios.
Shaw is known for his international leadership of world class multi-site resort, cruise line, and membership-based organizations. He has enjoyed nearly 20 years in an industry that celebrates life, fun, and the art of feeling good. He served as Director of Fitness, Tennis, and Spa at The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, the only exclusive country club of its kind in New Mexico.
As Corporate Director of Spa and Wellness at Capella Resorts and Auriga Spa in Mexico, Austria and Singapore, Shaw collaborated with Capella founder and former Ritz Carlton CEO Horst Schulze to implement branding strategies and train the teams to Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards, achieving the European Health & Spa Award - Best Destination Spa 2009.
He has previously served in spa and fitness management roles at Canyon Ranch Health Resorts in Tucson, Arizona; Renaissance Hotels - The Spa at the Del Monte in Rochester, New York; and Steiner Leisure, Ltd. – Mandara Spa in Miami, Florida, overseeing 12 international locations.
Shaw has spearheaded successful employee culture changes to deliver service standard excellence. His key leadership contributions made possible new facility openings and program expansion for cruise lines and resorts in Europe, Asia, Central America, and the US.
Shaw earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from East Carolina University. He holds multiple industry certifications in Spa Supervision, Exercise and Fitness Instruction, Pool Operation, and Applied Functional Science.
As a wellness advocate, he enjoys a life of balance and takes time to enjoy golf, tennis, the gym, and walking his dog, LittleMan.

Michael TOMPKINS, Partner, Hutchinson Consulting

For more than two decades Michael G. Tompkins has led celebrated teams in the luxury hospitality, wellness, and spa industries, earning world recognition for visionary leadership. He is an Executive Recruiter with Hutchinson Consulting.  Most recently he has served as Chairman of the International SPA Association (ISPA). Former CEO of Miraval Resorts, Hilton Head Health, and PALM Health, Vice President of Hotels & Spa at Turning Stone Casino and an executive with Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, his diverse background and ability to create global brand leading teams in the three converging market segments uniquely positions his understanding of operations and staff management. He resides in St. Louis, MO.
