Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna closed its 2013 edition with record-breaking figures: 193,842 visitors (14% increase) including 48,823 from abroad (22% increase), 2,390 exhibitors including 1,500 from abroad and 24 national collectives with new entries from Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Colombia. These figures are testament to the global mission of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. Together with the platforms of Las Vegas and Hong Kong it has once again proven to be the most important trade fair worldwide in the cosmetics and beauty sector.

The first stops on the tour were in Latin America, chosen as a focus area because of the sector’s current growth in this region. Cosmoprof On The Road visited Lima in Peru, Bogotá in Colombia, São Paulo and Bahia in Brazil and Santiago in Chile. South-east Asia couldn’t miss out on the tour and so Cosmoprof also made a stop in Singapore, promoting the new features and the strength of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. And the Cosmoprof On The Road journey goes on! The upcoming destinations, selected from among the most attractive countries for our exhibitors, where the beauty market is gaining renewed momentum, will soon be revealed.
The upcoming edition of Cosmoprof Bologna will, as usual, be hosting Cosmopack, the exhibition dedicated to the manufacturing supply chain. The 46th edition of Cosmopack celebrated Bologna as the packaging capital of the cosmetics world. The creative content, the products being exhibited and the innovative formulas make this “show within the show” a unique event. Cosmoprof brings together, within one big hub, the entire supply chain of the cosmetics industry, from raw materials to the latest innovations in packaging machinery and top-performance textures. The upcoming edition of Cosmopack will include an important new feature: the event will open on April 2nd, two days before Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, to help international visitors make the most of their visit to the biggest exhibition in the world dedicated to beauty and allow exhibitors to enjoy increased visibility, with the guaranteed presence of international buyers and press.
Major events and installations are also on the agenda for 2014. Following the success of “The Lipstick Factory”, the special initiative which brought together the whole lipstick production chain at the last edition, 2014 will see the creation of a new installation, a new journey into the worldwide excellence of the entire industry: THE POWDER FACTORY. A fascinating journey into the development and production of one of the earliest cosmetic products, from manufacturing through to packaging. Cosmopack is also committed to sustainability: the powder compacts produced during the event will be carbon-neutral.
There will also be plenty of conferences and meetings in the Trend Forum area, with a special focus on trends, new opportunities within the sector and particularly the world of raw materials.
Another feature of the upcoming edition, the prestigious International Buyer Programme, will be one of the most important projects geared towards meeting the needs of visitors and exhibitors. Over 260 buyers from around the world will be invited to the event and they will meet more than 540 international exhibitors. Cosmoprof is established as a complete and innovative business platform for the sector, aimed at all the distribution channels. It is an occasion for companies to raise the profile of their brand, support the launch of new products and present the latest innovations and trends.
