GREAT SUCCESS FOR THE 2018 EDITION OF COSMOPROF WORLDWIDE BOLOGNA
“Cosmoprof 2018 registered astonishing results – says Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere – the number of professionals attending the exhibition exceeded the 250,000 visitors of the 2017 edition; we recorded a growth by 11% in the presence of foreign operators. Record numbers also for exhibitors, 2,822, from 70 countries; they attracted an international audience, eager to do business and looking at the same time for professional updating. The B2B vocation of Cosmoprof has been further consolidated, thanks to the strong relationship established between buyers and exhibitors, to the articulated professional updating program, to the 18 workshops which saw a large participation and brought on the stage opinion leaders of great prestige, to the Awards celebrating the most innovative companies and the Career Award to Jean Claude Ellena, the famous “nose” of the Maison Hermes that attracted new attention to high-end perfumery, to which this year a special section was dedicated. A lively event – continues Calzolari – full of proposals, from the industrial supply chain to retail, a real glance on the world of cosmetics, in a synthesis that no other fair in the world can guarantee. We are now preparing Cosmoprof Mumbai (with our UBM partners), giving further new energy to our international platform, which already involves us in Asia and North America. Everything, with the collaboration of our partners, Cosmetica Italia – The Personal Care Association, the Ministry for Economic Development and ITA – Italian Trade Agency”.
“Creativity, research and innovation to meet the needs of consumers who pay increasing attention on safety and sustainability: these are just some of the winning elements that confirm the cosmetics among the excellences of Made in Italy. The national cosmetic sector, which records over 11 billion euros in turnover (+ 4.3%), – says Fabio Rossello, President of Cosmetica Italia – The Personal Care Association – registers a percentage of export up to 8%, with a trade balance of 2.5 billion euros. Communicating these data during Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna makes us even more proud to represent the sector, together with our historic partner BolognaFiere. In light of this successful synergy, which combines a unique trade fair format and a solid industry that offers jobs to over 35 thousand employees, increasing to 200 thousand with the related industries, the hope is to arise more attention from the institutions to support a virtuous model in Italy and abroad“.
To facilitate networking and business opportunities, Cosmoprof 2018 has adopted a new format, with “tailor-made” proposals, thus responding to specific needs of companies, buyers, distributors, retailers and professionals attending the show.
Great results as well for the charity initiative of Cosmoprof, “Boutique”, dedicated to Roberto Kerkoc, Vice-President of BolognaFiere who passed away last year. 20 exhibiting companies of Cosmoprof made their products available. Attendees took part to the initiative with passion, and products were sold out since the very beginning of the show. Proceeds will go to the Istituto Scientifico Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori (IRST) – the institute in Emilia Romagna for research against cancer.
Next rendez-vous for the Cosmoprof community: Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas (from 29 to 31 July), Cosmoprof India in Mumbai (10 and 11 September) and Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong (from 13 to 15 November with Cosmopack Asia and from 14 to 16 November with Cosmoprof Asia).
