BEAUTY AS CARE: BEYOND AESTHETICS, THE SOCIAL AND SCIENTIFIC VALUE OF THE COSMETIC GESTURE
In an era in which well-being is understood as holistic balance, cosmetics are no longer seen as mere instruments of vanity but instead emerge as essential allies in an individual’s physical and psychological health, taking on a clear medical and scientific significance.
The event is part of the prestigious institutional series “Beauty as Care,” a project born from the synergy between Senator Renato Ancorotti and Dr. Myriam Mazza, pharmacist and president of the non-profit association “Ricomincio da Me.” The initiative brings together legislative and industrial vision with the practical impact of social action: for years, the association has organized oncological dermocosmetics workshops throughout Italy, demonstrating how skin care is essential in restoring dignity and identity to those facing illness.
This Cosmoprof event features the joint participation of the medical community and institutional representatives, gathered to validate the role of cosmetics no longer as mere accessories, but as indispensable adjuvant support. Through dialogue among clinicians, lawmakers, and industry professionals, the aim is to formally recognize the therapeutic impact of dermocosmetics in improving quality of life, treatment adherence, and the social reintegration of vulnerable patients.
