Robert Evans is Co-Founder + Chief Strategy and Business Officer of Purissima, Inc., a leading, multi-patented health and wellness biotechnology company. With more than 25 years of experience in the business and biomaterials sectors, Robert excels at building both project-oriented teams and corporate infrastructures to equip companies for measurable growth and innovation.

Previously, Robert was Vice President of Business Development at Anellotech, Inc., developing a renewable products technology thermo-catalytically converting cellulosic biomass into renewable chemicals. Prior to his time at Anellotech, he served as Vice President at TerraVia, Inc.(formerly Solazyme, Inc.), an industrial biotech company producing renewable oils from micro-algae. During his 3 years at Solazyme, Robert built both a commercial team and the corporate infrastructure to launch their first products and realize the company’s first product sales.

Prior to Solazyme, Robert was employed as an International Executive at DSM, a Netherlands-based, Life Science & Materials Sciences Company active in health, nutrition and materials ($11B sales, 22,000 Employees). While at DSM, Rob held Global Business, Marketing and Sales Leadership roles of progressively larger scope and responsibility, while residing in the USA and in the Netherlands.  Before he left the company to join Solazyme, he was Global Business Director for DSM’s Biomedical Materials Business, a newly acquired entity based in Berkeley, CA. Rob holds an MBA from the University of Southern Indiana and a BS in Chemistry from George Mason University.
