Born in Milan, after graduating in Organic Chemistry, he carried out research activities in several pharmaceutical companies. He left his scientific career in 1995 to take over as president of Calé Srl, a perfumery distribution company founded in 1955 by his paternal grandfather, established on a solid experience dating back to the 1920s. Considered one of the leading experts in the so-called Artistic Perfumery, he has been the creator and co-founder of events such as Pittimmagine Fragranze in Florence since 2003, Masterpieces in Bologna in the context of Cosmoprof, from 2005 to 2008 and Esxence in Milan since 2009 considered the most prestigious international event in the Artistic Perfumery sector. He coordinated and published the translation of the books of the great perfumers Guy Robert “Les sens du parfum”(Franco Angeli 2003) and Maurice Maurin “La sagesse du Crèateur de Parfums” (Edizioni della Meridiana 2008) and is co-author with Ornella Pastorelli of the book “Leggere il profumo”(Franco Angeli 2005). Since 2008, he has started the brand Calé Fragranze d'Autore with fragrances created under his guidance with exceptional Perfumers to which he has combined specially composed musical pieces in collaboration with Philip Abussi.

He co-founded NOSE the Parisian store at 20 rue Bachaumont that offers the eponymous olfactory diagnostic system on an iPad to assist customers in choosing the fragrance best suited for them.

In 2019 he founded Essencional a center of excellence that aims to increase knowledge in artistic perfumery and beauty as well as to promote and support the common values of this sector.

Alongside his activity as a distributor, he also works as a retailer, which he does through a number of stores whose management he personally oversees.
