Cosmopack awards: the keys to success for winners

Innovative formulations and technologies, functional packaging without renouncing eye-catching design: these are the characteristics that have decreed the success of the finalist companies of the Cosmopack Awards last March 17, 2023.

The project, curated by the Global Beauty Industry Reference BEAUTYSTREAMS, aims to reward the most innovative solutions, celebrating excellence in the cosmetics industry.

The jury of 13 international experts, consisting of cosmetics industry professionals, buyers, designers and R&D experts, retailers, trade associations, trade and consumer press, and key influencers selected the best entries in 6 categories:

- Skin Care Formula
- Make Up Formula
- Packaging: Design & Materials
- Hair Care Formula
- Sustainability
- Innovation Technology

Let's find out together the reasons why the finalists emerged victorious.

FOR SKIN CARE FORMULA CATEGORY WINS INTERCOS GROUP (ITALY)

The jury awarded Intercos Group's proposal, stating that everyone needs a product like Ice massage eye essence stick: a balm that contains an ice water essence encased in a stick that is simple yet ingenious and, above all, useful. The formulas used combine the principles of a traditional massage with technology, ensuring both effectiveness and a pleasant holistic sensation.

The jury was enthusiastic, saying that cryo-beauty is one of the next market trends. The product cares for delicate facial skin, combining rich and active ingredients and giving "a very convincing fresh feeling." The fact that the product is vegan and contains 92 percent natural ingredients, as well as its pleasant texture, were additional pluses.

FOR THE SUSTAINABILITY CATEGORY WINS MYC PACKAGING INNOVATION CO., LTD. (Italy)

The strength of Metallica Mascara is the metal comb: chic, luxurious and recyclable. The jury admired the elegance and sustainability of the product, designed with 100 percent virgin or recycled aluminum. "Beautiful, sustainable and immortal," said the jury about the 100% recyclable aluminum.

With nearly one billion units of mascara sold each year, the sustainability component played a key role. Some jury members said that even if only a fraction of these individual units were made from sustainable, circular materials, the beauty industry could reduce a huge amount of waste and limit its impact on the environment.
